How to Compete with Amazon: Mobify Roadmap Highlights

We know constant pressure from technology giants like Amazon and Facebook makes it difficult to keep up with your customers’ changing expectations. We’ve outlined highlights of our roadmap for 2017 that will help you keep up with the latest in mobile and achieve your 2017 revenue goals.

2016 was a busy year for Mobify, we were ranked by Forrester as a leader in Mobile Customer Engagement for the web, and as a strong contender in apps, and have continued to cement our leadership status through our partnership with Google and their Progressive Web App (PWA) technology. Mobify now has more PWA experience than any other vendor, with launches for prominent retailers such as Crabtree & Evelyn and Lancome USA. Our customer PureFormulas was selected as a finalist by a panel of retail peers for the eTail Best in-Class Award for Best Mobile Site, delivering 23% higher revenues per visit compared to its previous mobile site.

As Chief Product Officer of Mobify, I’m excited to give our top customers a peek at how we will continue to develop industry-leading technology through 2017 and beyond.

Start Fast, Stay Fast

Research continues to prove that every second matters when it comes to increasing conversion rates. In fact, our Q2 2016 Mobile Insights report revealed that for every half-second decrease in homepage load speed, our customers see an average annual revenue increase of $376,789.

With this in mind, we’re focusing on two key areas:

  • Start fast: Introduce near-instant loading of key landing pages through Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) technology. Mobify was one of the first to launch AMP, with our customer Lancôme this March. We look forward to advancing our AMP offering through 2017.
  • Stay fast: Bring “Time to Interactivity” under 10 seconds, from the industry average of 19 seconds. This cuts the time it takes for a customer to be able to interact with all the content on a page in half.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware) API Connector

Industry-leading platforms that are commonly part of our customer environments have begun to enable front-end innovation, without impacting the stability of the back-end. Mobify is on the forefront of this innovation, and are proud to announce an upcoming Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware) API connector that will be available in the first half of 2017. We are looking forward to releasing integrations for additional platforms such as SAP Hybris and IBM Websphere Commerce in the near future.

Advanced Checkout and Payment Experiences

In native mobile apps, retailers lose 20% of customers at every point of friction during a transaction.

That’s one app-like experience we want to avoid. Our focus in 2017 will be simplifying the checkout experience, through:

  • New web payments such as Android Pay and Apple Pay.
  • Real-time, automated Abandoned Cart push notifications to bring customers back to the checkout path. Our roadmap includes additional automation for push notifications including inventory, wishlist, search, and shipment triggers.
