This coronavirus tracker looks at ecommerce traffic, revenue, and AOV trends to monitor how online consumer shopping behavior and spending habits are evolving amidst the pandemic.
Despite retail stores beginning to reopen, online traffic has continued to increase since mid-March, primarily driven by mobile traffic increases.
Transaction volume spiked during the stay-at-home order, even doubling in April compared to mid-March. It has since stabilized but is still higher than before the stay-at-home order.
Since mid-March, there has been a 56% increase in overall revenue. Even with stores re-opening, we continue to see more revenue through online channels compared to before the stay-at-home order.
Average order value has decreased since the stay-at-home order (probably due to discounting), which means the increase in revenue is a result of more transactions.
